It was a rainy and gloomy day outside GFT on Thursday, December 20… But, inside, the energy levels were up! The students and visitors had a lot of fun scouring through magazines and planning different activities, adventures, locations, animals, and the food they plan on tackling this year.
While the adults were free to plan their posters in whichever ways they chose, students were given a little more direction. We asked them to think about the changes that occur in the world each year and what they hoped to accomplish, see, have, do, and eat during the changing seasons.
As you can imagine, the range of posters from kids four through forty+ was immense! When the students wrapped up the creation piece of the event, we gathered around in a group. With the help from a microphone located nearby, each child shared his/her poster pictures, themes, and what he/she hopes to accomplish in 2019.
We saw the joy the collaging brought the students and look forward to incorporating it more as we move through the year! Other community events like this Vision Poster event will be posted as they come available. We can’t wait to see you soon!
